NEW COURSE DATES: JAN 8TH - MARCH 12TH

Here’s the thing, i think everyone has a writer within.

I believe our lives are made undeniably better from getting out of our heads and onto the page. Becoming a writer brings clarity, creative expression and a deepening conviction to the life we live.

I know first hand how hard it can be to feel like there’s something within you that you want to express beyond you so I want to create a space I wish I had ten years ago. A place for community, accountability and inspiration to lean on in your journey as a maker.

From songwriters to novelists, emcees to essayists and this is a space to discover the gift that only you have to share with the world.

I'll bring what I've been learning and have discovered during the last decade of writing songs and sermons, books, poems and podcasts and setting up a publishing house. Oh, and I’ll bring along some incredible special guests as well. You'll bring your words (or lack of them) and read, reflect, vent, ask questions and get inspired to get out of your head and onto the page.

Joshua Luke Smith

Poet | Founder

Joining The Write Club was an investment in myself & my craft. I have been creating & sharing poems for over 10 years, but didn’t realise how starved I was of inspiration, accountability and community.

Throughout the journey, I was nourished and nurtured by the life and lessons of Josh, the other attendees, & guests writers. My writing was energised by the commissions, discovering depths I hadn’t accessed.

The fruit of the club, is that I am desperately trying to live and pass on what I have learnt. If you want to invest in yourself and your craft, I can’t think of anywhere better than the community of inspiration and accountability, found in the Write Club.

David Joey Mitchell

Write Club’s been genuinely transformational for me. The setting of a weekly club helped me realise how healing, therapeutic and moving writing can be… and in the process, to unlock a part of myself I didn’t even know was there - thoughts, memories, feelings.

All alongside some really cool writers who have challenged and encouraged my writing, (under Joshua’s watchful, pastoral eye).
In short, it’s helped me reconnect with myself and to rediscover the joy of writing.
For anyone considering: DO IT. GET

How it works

The Write Club is an intensive course to help you get out of your head and onto the page.

Our next course will be run from Jan 8th - March 12th 2025. During those ten weeks you’ll discover hard won principles and practices for writing. They’ll be space to share your work and process whilst journeying with other writers from around the world.

These gatherings will happen every Wednesday at 8am and 6pm UK time and run for around 90 minutes.

Your membership gives you access to everything listed below as well as on going access to the online community and content created EXCLUSIVELY for the write club.

The course costs £450 and can be paid upfront or in affordable payments over four months.

  • THE Huddles

Described as “a mix between a writers round and group therapy”, the gatherings are a time to share your work and journey as a writer. You’ll meet with other writers for a time of sharing and input hosted by me, Joshua Luke Smith. These times are equipping and inspiring and focused around living integrated and sustainable lives as writers in the world.

  • The Podcast

You’ll have access to in-depth (video) interviews with established writers and makers exploring their process and insights. These are invaluable recordings, exclusive to The Write Club with much to glean and learn from.

  • THE REFLECTIONS

You’ll receive a video with some thoughts from me to help you get out of our head and onto the page. These sessions are exclusive to The Write Club and offer unique perspectives and hard won wisdom, including reflections on the writers life, thoughts around developing your craft and commissions (a writing prompt).

  • PRISON WORKSHOPS

Every month I take The Write Club behind bars and your it’s your membership that helps fund this vital work. I believe poetry is a tool for transformation and has the power to help us process our past, focus our present and reimagine our future. I’m working with these men not simply to help unlock their creative expression but in the hope of playing a part in their reformation and rehabilitation.

What People Are Saying

“The Write Club has been such a source of safety, encouragement and inspiration for me to keep picking up my pen and pressing into my inner world, expressing the human experience and generally just continuing to be a soul searcher. In a world of ‘surface level’ the write club has brought so much depth and discovery.”

Eloise Twyford

“Write Club felt like coming home. Getting to know other writers over an extended period of time gave me the opportunity to learn from and be sharpened by their own unique styles and experiences. How lovely to know there are others that struggle like you!”

Chloe holland

“The Write Club has been life changing for me, and writing has become a joy in daily practice now, a place where I can ponder all of the tricky questions, the mundane, pain, fear, joy, flaws, and my faith and hope.”
